Winner of the Golden Spin, Zagreb
Gheorghe continued the row of good performances. With the free presented Friday afternoon he won the gold medal in Zagreb. The program started with a 3axel then
came two other triples: 3lutz and 3loop. Gheorghe landed a nice 3flip-3toe combo and presented two other triples 3salchow and 3toe, although didn't manage to land another 3lutz.
He won both the free and short program, here in Zagreb. Congratulations!

1st place after the short in Zagreb
This week is organized the 35th Golden Spin of Zagreb in the capital of Croatia. Gheorghe is leading after today's short program. He landed the 3a-2toe combo,
but touched with his hand the ice after the 3axel. The 3lutz went great, and he had no problem with the 2axel.

Silver medal at Finlandia Trophy 2002
The first competition in season 2002/2003 went great for Gheorghe. He had a great free skating in Helsinki landing the 3Axel-3Toe combination, but touched down at the 3Lutz. He landed the 3Loop, and another triple-triple combination, 3Flip-3Toe, but had short landings. He had a clean 3Salchow, and another combo: 3Loop-2Toe.
Gheorghe stepped the second time on the podium in Helsinki after last years bronze medal.

Olympics 2002
Gheorghe arrives on 31 January to Romania to join the Romanian Olympic team, and leave to Salt Lake city on 2nd February.
He was practising in Switzerland, near Zurich where he lives for almost half a year. Unfortunately just a few days after finishing
Europeans he had to stop practising for a while due to a quite serious flu.

Gheorghe placed 18th at 2002 Europeans. He did quite a good short progam, and came up from the 19th place to the 15th. He risked the free
and went for the quad, so his final placement is 18th.

7th place at Cup of Russia
Gheorghe placed 4th in the short program, Friday, 23rd November, just a week after winning the Crystal Skate.
He skated a clean short program, landing 3axel+2toeloop, 3lutz and 2axel. In the free he had
two 3axels landed, but didn't landed all the other triples, and placed 7th in the free,
and finished on this place overall, as well.

Win at Crystal Skate!
One more national champion title for Gheorghe, this is the 4th consecutive senior champion title.
The international competition was the senior nationals for Romania, and this year the
internationals participants number was higher, that the previous years. Gheorghe finished

Bronze medal at Finlandia Trophy
Gheorghe won the bronze medal at his first competition in the 2001-2002 season. He skated almost a clean short (3axel-2toe, hand down between the two jumps, 3lutz preceeding by steps, 2axel) and placed 4th after the short. He managed to climb on the podium with his free program finishing 3rd overall after placing 3rd in free skating. link - to the official site for this event
