UPDATE ON THE NEW IWA WEB SITE
Though it is taking a bit longer than originally planned to put the
finishing touches on, the brand new IWA Mid-South web site is nearing
completion (well, completion to the extent that it will be far enough
along for everyone to start to check out... it will remain a "work in
progress" for the first several weeks).
Many thanks go out to all IWA fans who have helped out in their own way
(be it submitting scanned pictures they've taken, helping out with
graphics for the site, or whatever else) over the past two weeks.
The new site should be a vast improvement over the current one. It is
EXPECTED for the new site to go active late this week (likely
Thursday-ish). A notice will be posted here on the message board when it
is ready. Anyone with further contributions/suggestions, feel free to
E-mail iwaweb@hotmail.com.
JANUARY 26th CHARLESTOWN RESULTS
Harry Palmer at the 1/26 show declared that since the Dayton show was
postponed for Friday 2/1 that it would be a doubleshot weekend in
Charlestown on Friday 2/1 and Saturday 2/2. The Friday show will be a night of 2
tournaments: Tag Title tournament to crown new tag team champions. He
also announced that due to the 30 day defense rule, that double champion
CM Punk has been stripped of the light heavyweight title for not
defending the title and a tourney will take place Friday night to
determine a new champion. Also announced for Friday is Ian Rotten vs.
Rugby Thug Trent Baker as a result of tonight's heinous acts by the
Thug.
Adrian Serrano opened the show by stating he had no opponent. Holly Wood
came out and offered to go out with anyone who could shut Serrano up for
her. Referee Jon Howard took her up on the offer to kill off rumors of
his sexual preference. Serrano made him tap 3 different times inside of
2 minutes. This brought out Rollin Hard who tried to take up the offer
but Serrano won with the armbar submission.
Dysfunction who has been an opportunist of late then ran to the ring for
his match with Rollin and attacked him much like he did to Ian Rotten
after an attack by Bull Pain and company a few weeks ago. Rollin fought
him off and gained the victory with a DVD.
Mean Mitch Page def. Todd Morton with a schoolboy rollup. Bull Pain
interfered often but it was to no avail as Todd had his feet on the rope
during a pin attempt for leverage but was caught by Brent Blades. Todd
thought it was a three count and celebrated leaving Page the opening for
the rollup. Bull berated Todd afterwards about disappointing him by
losing and not being a good "chosen one" to mimmick Bull.
Bull Pain def. Cash Flo with the Pain Game. Bull and Cash exchanged
vicious chops and fought around the building. Todd got involved by
pulling Cash's foot on an Oh Shit Legdrop attempt crotching Cash on the
top rope. Bull then hit the Pain Game for the victory. Bull and Todd
worked Cash over with the bat afterwards.
Nadia Nyce and Chris Hero def. Dave Prazak and Rugby Thug. Thug spoke of
how only crippling Hero will save the damage Hero has done by ruining
his life. Victories would be a nice insult to add to the wounds but
injury is his goal. Prazak spoke of his hatred for women in the
wrestling ring. Prazak had his way with Nadia in the early going by
grabbing her breasts and pelvic thrusting her on a go behind waistlock.
It built his courage to try his luck with Hero but Hero dominated their
exchanges. Hero and Thug went to tearing into each other culminating in
Hero throwing Thug outside and returning to the ring to hit Prazak with
the Hero's Welcome while he had Nadia. Hero then allowed Nadia to get
the pinfall on Prazak. Thug attacked from behind and tied Hero to the
ropes. He then proceeded to hit Hero's arm several times with a chair.
The chair on the last one hit mostly the top of Hero's hand causing
instant bruising and swelling. An update on Chris' condition is expected
later this week. DP and Thug then turned attentions to Nadia which
brought out Ian Rotten for the save. Ian and Thug tore into each other
and fought throughout the building before the entire locker room could
seperate them. Thug challenged Ian for Friday night which was accepted.
Corporal Robinson def. Ian Rotten - Fans Bring Weapons. These two men
destroyed each other with everything and anything they could get their
hands on. Tables, lighttubes, barb wire bat, christmas ornaments etc
were used. Both men were left a bloody mess and Corp hit the bootcamp
for the victory. Two of the more gruesome spots were Ian Rotten hitting
a Yokozuna Banzai drop onto Corp as he had a couple of lighttubes on his
chest and Corporal doing the slingshot legdrop onto Ian as he had 2
lighttubes shoved into Ian's singlet, crushing them into Ian's back.
After the match, Rugby Thug attacked a beaten Ian Rotten before running
off.
NECRO BUTCHER RETURNS TO IWA, DEFEATS PONDO!
(report by Bryan ReDD)
1. Corporal Robinson def. Garrett Marx with a Boot Camp cobra
clutch/Russian
leg sweep.
Nice little opener that saw Marx come to the ring looking disgusted with
the
fans. He then got on the mic and explained his ill mood by saying the
fans of
the IWA have been disrespecting him by making fun of his tights, hair
cut,
etc., as well as booing a "great wrestler." He then claimed he was gonna
beat
one of IWA's most beloved "hardcore mo fos" to prove he was a better
wrestler. Corp then got in the ring to retort on young Marx, saying that
he
(Marx) had a lesson to learn and Corp was gonna teach it to him. Marx
started
out with some nice wrestling moves, including an arm drag and a hip
toss, but
it didn't take Corp too long to get in the swing of things...quite
literally
as he took Marx to the outside and waffled him across the back with a
steel
chair. Marx never recovered from that, and soon fell victim to a VERY
nice
looking Boot Camp.
2. Ian Rotten def. "Superbrat" Brad Bradley (w/ Dave Prazak) with a
double
arm DDT.
Once again a young wrestler strutted to the ring with a look of utter
disgust
on his face towards the IWA loyals. The "Sausage King of Chicago" was
the
mouth piece for the Superbrat tonight, claiming that Ian Rotten had NO
chance
against the Steel Domain grad if there were rules in the match. He cited
Ia
n's recent DQ loss to Chuck E. Smooth as proof of his point. Ian came
out to
the usual deafening cheers, and told Prazak and young Bradley that he
was
indeed training in old school wrestling and accepted Prazak's challenge
of a
"classic" wrestling match with Bradley, in which Bradley did not fair to
well. While there was some nice back and forth action during the latter
part
of the match, for most of the beginning Ian had Brad tied up in ways
that
would make a pretzel scream in pain. The ending came when Prazak pulled
the
foot of Ian as he hit the ropes, causing him to stumble so Bradley could
hook
Ian in his own finishing move, the double arm DDT. That backfired as Ian
pushed Bradley off of him and showed him exactly how the double arm DDT
is
done.
Ian Rotten stayed in the ring before we went into our first intermission
of
night, prompting fans to think that he was going to show his most recent
victim why he's known far and wide for his chair swinging abilities, but
Ian
had more important things on his mind. He spoke to his fans about the
short,
but colorful, history of the building that is known as the House of
Hardcore,
he spoke of the ongoing battle with the Zoning Commission that could end
up
sending IWA to a new building, and then he spoke of the most vital part
of
the IWA...the fans. He thanked all the fans that have been there since
day
one. He thanked all of the fans who frequented the message boards (with
the
exception of a few), and flashed back to a time with the old K-Mart
building
on Dixie Hwy. was packed with 350-400 people every week. "God, those
were the
days." Ian talked about how he can no longer ask the boys in the back to
do
the shit that they do week in a week out and only hand them 20-30
dollars,
cause that's all he afford to pay them. Ian asked all of the fans to
show him
that the days of packing the house can return, to show him that the
fight
with the Zoning Commission is a good fight, and to show him that IWA
Mid-South does not need to move it's HQ to Indianapolis, by putting as
many a
sses in the seats as possible on a weekly basis. He mentioned that he
has
big...not big, but HUGE things in store for the IWA. Already signed to
appear
on March 2nd is Eddy Guerrero, and is already talking to Rey Misterio,
Jr. to
bring him in sometime down the road, but NONE of that is gonna be
possible in
Charlestown without the help of fans. He mentioned that something as
simple
as flyering (which has got the be HARDEST word in the English language
to
say) would be a huge help as it would get the IWA name out there. If
you're
interested in a flyer, e-mail Bryan46290@aol.com and he will send you one
that you can print out, get copied, and get into people's hands.
3. Mean Mitch and Cash Flo went to a 20 minute time limit draw.
Mitch got on the mic and told the crowd that he and Cash had decided to
do a
little something different tonight. They were going to have an amateur
style
match. After some bantering back and forth as to whom was going to go
down
for whom (as in amateur match starting position ya sick freak) they
finally
decided on a spelling bee...yes, a spelling bee to decide who would get
down
on their hands and knees first (ewwwwww!!!!). Mitch was given the word
"amateur" to spell and after confusing the meaning and spelling it
"D-U-S-T-I-N" (your guess is as good as mine on that one) he finally got
it
right. Cash was given the word "cat" and only with the help of a front
row
fan was he able to get it right so in the interest of fairness, Jim
Fannin
gave Cash a trivia question, which was "Which weighs more. A pound a
feathers
or a pound of gravel?" It only took a Cash a short time to come up with
his
answer and after telling Jim that he felt insulted cause EVERYONE knows
the
answer, he said that the pound of feathers is heavier cause there's more
in
the bag...God love ya Cash.
The "amateur match" only lasted through Cash giving Mitch 3 turns to
take him
down, and when he was unsuccessful at all the attempts, the began a test
of
strength...only, Mitch was so sure of his being able to overpower Cash
that
he chose to do the test with his eyes closed, which led to a boot in the
gut
by Cash, and then stomping on his hand. They began pushing one another
and
started brawling, all the way up to the 20 minute time limit bell. The
match
was ruled a draw with Mitch announcing "Hell, I've never gone 20 minutes
with
anything," and then QUICKLY correcting himself. The fans chanted for
five
more minutes. Mitch replied that he couldn't wrestle for 25 minutes,
especially since Chris Hero was on next.
4. The Rugby Thug Trent Baker (w/ Dave Prazak) def. Chris Hero (w/ Nadia
Nyce) with a roll up and a hand full of tights.
Another spectacular match between these two, which saw Rugby re-ignite
that
fire that he had in him last week by laying into Chris Hero with some
vicious
hits and kicks and Hero responding with the same. The great wrestling
that
you have come to expect from these two was there as well, but the match
itself was just intense between the former Superheroes and IWA
champions. The
ending came after Hero hit a very nice looking Diamond Dust on Rugby and
Hero
goes for the cover, and seeing that his man (teehee) was in trouble,
Dave
Prazak jumped up on the apron to distract referee Brent Blades. Hero,
having
enough of Prazak's interference goes after him. Rugby recovers but only
to
get noggin knockers with Prazak. Hero catches him in the Hero's Welcome,
which he reversed, and ended up getting the 1-2-3 with a roll up and a
handful of Hero's pants.
After the match Prazak and Thug put the boots to Hero which brought in
Nadia
Nyce who tried to get Prazak off of her man. She got pushed down twice
by
Prazak, and by the third time she got up she was ready to hurt him. She
was
cut off when Prazak grabbed her by the hair, and twisted it around his
hand,
which looked like he was attempting to take a chunk of her hair with
him, as
she was trying to escape. Prazak swung at her, but she ducked it and
Prazak
turned around into a spear from Nadia. Thug pulled her off Prazak, and
the
two shot her into the ropes attempting a double clothesline, but she
ducked
it, and applied a double "testicular claw." Both men were screaming in
pain,
and she let them go to concentrate on Prazak. Just as Rugby was about to
manhandle her due to her handling his manhood, Hero saved his woman.
Rugby
and Hero brawled to the floor as the locker room emptied in a vain
attempt to
keep them apart. Dave Prazak then got on the mic and verbally plastered
Nadia
for putting her hands on him, and challenged her to get in the ring for
a tag
match next Saturday night. Nadia got on the mic and quickly accepted the
match. So already signed is Dave Prazak and The Rugby Thug taking on
Chris
Hero and Nadia Nyce.
5. Mad Man Pondo vs. the mystery opponent was your main event.
Pondo came out to a mixed reaction with his trusty STOP sign and new
found
buddy hedge clippers in tow. He put down his last few opponents (Corp
and
Mitch) saying that he beat them both, and that the IWA was trying to
screw
him by not giving him time to prepare for tonight's opponent. He then
said th
at it didn't matter who it was, he was going to do the same thing to
them
that he's done to everyone else, so bring the person out. An unfamiliar
song
began to play, as an unfamiliar person came out of the locker room. He
walked
around the ring tagging hands with all those who were willing, and then
got
in the ring with Pondo, who immediately went to work on him. Jim Fannin
announced him as "Die Hard Dustin." But I believe the introductions
lasted
longer than he did and he went down HARD to a sit-down tombstone
piledriver
on 4 light tubes taped together.
Then familiar music hit as the NECRO BUTCHER hit the ring with a
quickness...almost as quickly as Pondo left the ring. Necro gave chase,
but
it became obvious that Pondo knew what he was doing as he put the boots
to
Necro as soon as he slid under the bottom rope. MANY weapons were used
in
this match. Some of the highlights included a superplex that sent the
Mad Man
into wooden sticks, light tubs, and brand new mailbox held up by two
steel
chairs. A senton bomb off of the top rope onto Necro who was inside a
metal
trash can. Pondo then went to work on something very deadly as he set up
8
chairs facing each other, 4 chairs laying on top of that, and a set of
light
tubes with a FOR SALE sign taped to it on top of that mess...It was
pretty
obvious that he intentions were to powerbomb Necro into this, but Necro
reversed it into a back body drop. After that nasty spill, and losing a
TON
of blood, Necro applied the Asiatic Spike which forced Pondo to pass
out,
giving Necro the win in his big return match. Ian got on the mic
afterwards
and welcomed Necro home, saying "This is where you belong," thus proving
that
IWA is indeed NOT what it used to be as far as hardcore matches...IT'S
BETTER!!!!!
IWA RETURNS TO NAP-TOWN, PUNK RETAINS TITLE IN 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS CLASSIC!
Here are your results from Friday, 1/11 in Indianapolis at the Knights of Columbus.
1. "Sexy" Ace Steel def. "Rugby Thug" Trent Baker (w/ Dave Prazak).
2. "Spyder" Nate Webb def. Cash Flo.
3. Rollin' Hard def. Mad Man Pondo.
4. "Marvelous" Mitch Ryder def. Corporal Robinson.
5. Colt Cabana (w/ "Sensational" Sherri Martel) def. Chris Candido.
6. Ian Rotten & "Mean" Mitch Page def. Bull Pain & Todd Morton.
7. CM Punk (w/ Dave Prazak) def. Chris Hero (w/ Nadia Nyce) 2-1 in a 2
out of
3 falls match to retain IWA Mid-South Heavyweight title. Hero hit a
tigerdiver powerbomb off the top rope on Punk. The move must be seen to
be
believed. The first two falls saw Hero pin Punk with the Hero's Welcome,
and
Punk pin Hero following the Pepsi Plunge (top rope pedigree). The
deciding
fall went to Punk after a russian legsweep with the title belt held over
Hero's face. Early IWA Match of the Year contender.
