Mod Chips-
 |
| MOD chips are small programmed computer chips whose primary purpose is to allow your playstation to run import games and backup games. The chips do this by emitting the proper codes (namely the country code and the "I'm a Sony Playstation Game" code) so that your system thinks that it is reading a valid Sony CD from the same coutry as your playstation. The mod chip is soldered directly onto your playstation circuit board, and installation requires soldering experience. MultiMode mod technology: The new MultiMode 2.01 mod chip defeats Sony's new anti-mod chip protection using Stealth code. In playstation games like Dino Crisis and FF8, the software can recognize the presence of a mod chip in your system, and immediately halt. But with the new MultiMode code, the mod chip turns off once it is no longer needed, and then cannot be detected by the software!

What's the difference between a prewired mod chip and a bare mod chip?
- Prewired mod chips come with the proper amount of wires already soldered onto the proper pins. They also are wrapped in a protective insulation.
