  • Prohibitionists who think that they are following Christ have been deceived by Satan.

Prohibitionists who think that they are following Christ have been deceived by Satan, just as Eve was deceived by Satan to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Prohibition is a consequence of that original sin, because it would be evil to be intoxicated all the time, but without God's judgment and wisdom, people often think that any use of illegal substances at any time is abuse, but the person who gets drunk occasionally on legal alcohol is not considered an "abuser".

The Bible says that to be a drunkard is wrong, but in the English language the word drunkard refers to an alcoholic, who is drunk all the time, but if a man is drunk one time, people usually just say, "he's drunk". It seems that most people refer to anyone, that gets stoned at any time as a "stoner", and a "drug abuser". Most of us can tell the difference between a person having a few drinks and a drunk, who would be abusing alcohol. Why can't people do the same for the illegal drugs?

Different interpretations of the Bible come to different people. That is why there are so many variations of the church, that all call themselves "Christian". The major thing that I got out of the Bible was that lies are evil. The War on Drugs is based on lies! That is only one reason that the War on Drugs is so anti-Christian. Exodus 20:16 says, "You must not lie." Exodus 23:1-3 says "Do not pass along untrue reports. Do not cooperate with an evil man by affirming on the witness stand something you know is false. Don't join mobs intent on evil. When on the witness stand, don't be swayed in your testimony by the mood of the majority present, and do not slant your testimony in favor of a man just because he is poor." Proverbs 19:9 says, "The false witness shall be punished and a liar shall be caught."

The first sin in the Bible was a lie; (Genesis 3:1-5 in which the serpent told Eve that by eating from the tree of knowledge of good & evil, that she wouldn't die, but her eyes would be opened). Jesus was condemned by liars.

Marijuana prohibition is maintained with perjury, prevarication, and propaganda.

As Satan used lies to deceive Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge, prohibition is based entirely on lies. History shows that every drug law on the books was passed on the basis of misinformation and misrepresentations. Marijuana prohibition is maintained with perjury, prevarication, and propaganda.

In the history of prohibition a federal bureaucrat named Harry Anslinger was a primary person responsible for the prohibition. As an example of Federal Bureau of Narcotics chief Harry Anslinger's perjury to outlaw marijuana in the 1930s: The most sensational crime in Anslinger's "gore file" was the Victor Licata case where a young man got up one morning and killed his parents, two brothers and a sister with an axe. Harry Anslinger claimed marijuana was responsible for this horrendous crime because Licata "had been addicted to smoking marijuana cigarettes for more than six months."

However, psychiatric examination of Victor Licata told a different story than Anslinger's. The examining psychiatrist, Dr. H. Mason Smith, concluded that Licata's insanity was probably hereditary because his parents were first cousins and a granduncle and two paternal cousins had been committed to insane asylums. Licata's younger brother, one of his victims, had been diagnosed with dementia praecox. Moreover, the police had tried to have Victor Licata himself committed almost a year earlier, but withdrew the petition when the youth's parents insisted they could take better care of him at home.

Licata's history indicates that the cause of his crimes was a long lasting psychosis. At the Florida State Mental Hospital, he was diagnosed as suffering dementia praecox, dementia praecox with homicidal tendencies and he was observed to be overtly psychotic. Licata killed another patient in the hospital and finally hanged himself.

Every major study since 1933 has agreed that marijuana REDUCES violence.

Hospital records do not blame either Licata's crimes or his lifelong mental illness on marijuana. In fact, marijuana is never mentioned. Without a shred evidence Anslinger misrepresented the Licata case for over 15 years to terrify the public about marijuana. It's hard to find anyone willing to defend the Reefer Madness theory anymore, but Anslinger's scare tactics persuaded Congress to pass the Marijuana Tax Act in 1937.

Anslinger's most outrageous lie was the notion that marijuana use leads to violence and maniacal insanity. Every major study since 1933 has agreed that marijuana REDUCES violence. Marijuana has a somewhat sedative action that tends to calm violence prone individuals. Also, marijuana use does not destroy inhibitions and common sense the way alcohol intoxication does. Alcohol and cannabis are two entirely different drugs and we must not confuse the effects of the two. The assertions Anslinger made about marijuana are more fitting descriptions of the effects of alcohol than any other drug. The policemen, who work the streets today have seen many problems caused to people by alcohol, but they don't see those problems due to marijuana.

In recent years, drug prohibitionists have dropped the marijuana induced violence myth and now promote the equally ridiculous pretense that marijuana causes an amotivational syndrome which is 180 degrees from the idea of madness and mayhem that the original prohibition was based on. Needless to say, there is no significant evidence to support the notion that marijuana causes changes in a person's pace of life one way or the other.

Often people who are accused of having "amotivational syndrome", have merely come to the realization that communing with God's creation is more important than only pursuing the almighty dollar! In a materialistic society, to commune with God and his creation are criticized, but it is anti-Christian to be primarily intertested in material things!

Punishing someone for what they do to themselves is counter to the scriptures.

Anslinger's bogus legislation has resulted in over 10,000,000 needless marijuana arrests since 1937! This destruction of innocent lives is not for any criminal activity, but because of a degenerate philosophy that seeks to enforce an immoral prohibition scheme that is never mentioned in the Bible. Thousands of non-violent marijuana users, growers and dealers who have never committed a real crime are serving more prison time than murderers, rapists and child molesters. Jailing people for 5-10-15- even life-without-parole sentences for simple possession of marijuana is a monstrous injustice that conflicts with the Biblical standard that the punishment fit the crime.

The Bible specifies proportional punishment to fit the crime in Deuteronomy 19:21; it shall be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. This is an eminently fair way of determining punishment. There is no authorization to take an eye or a foot or a hand unless the accused has inflicted such an injury on someone else. There are no victimless crimes in the Bible. To deserve punishment, the person had to have done something to someone else. Moreover, the punishment had to be proportional to the crime. There was no hand chopping for petty theft and the death penalty was reserved for murder and capital offenses. As these are the punishments specified in the Bible for various sins, how can years of incarceration for consuming a substance that has been made illegal fit in there?

Punishing someone for what they do to themselves is counter to the scriptures. Without a victim to make a complaint, there was no violation of the law, no legal case and, of course, no punishment. There are no provisions in the Bible for punishing "victimless crimes."

The fundamental question that prohibitionists never answer is why drug use should be punished in the first place. If a person robs, assaults, rapes, molests or murders someone, they deserve to be punished even to the point of losing their life. Why should somebody be condemned when they have wronged no one, even themselves?

...the War on Drugs is clearly un-Christian.

Jesus also said "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." According to Jesus, only those who have never ingested a psycho-tropic drug should have the right to induce punishment, and since alcohol, cigarettes, and coffee are psycho-tropic drugs, chocolate has psycho-tropic properties, and the body can even produce its own natural psycho-tropic substances under some conditions (commonly known as the "runners high"), and since most of those calling for punishment of drug users, have probably experienced one or more of these at one time or another, the War on Drugs is clearly un-Christian.

In the 1950s, a long line of medical authorities informed Congress that NONE of the so-called violence or insanity inducing effects claimed for marijuana were true. They rightly pointed out that even among criminal classes marijuana tended to reduce violence.

Needless to say, an accomplished liar like Harry Anslinger wasn't about to let a little thing like the truth get in the way of his Reefer Madness prohibition schemes. With the adroitness of Satan himself, Anslinger suddenly brought forth a new previously unknown reason to keep marijuana illegal. Out of the blue, marijuana became a "gateway drug" that was certain to lead marijuana smokers down the slippery path to heroin addiction. In 1937, Anslinger himself swore to Congress that he had never known of a single case of a marijuana user moving on the heroin or cocaine. There wasn't a shred of credible scientific evidence to support a steppingstone theory. However, a new reason for hemp prohibition was needed, and Harry Anslinger had no compunctions about using whatever deception necessary. In 1951, Anslinger changed his tune and invented the "steppingstone theory" claiming that pot inevitably lead to heroin addiction.

If marijuana truly leads to harder drugs ...

The claim that marijuana "leads" to harder drugs, makes as much sense as to say that sex leads to rape! Proponents of the steppingstone theory, say that heroin addicts usually have tried marijuana before they tried heroin. Of course, they always omit from their analyses how many tried the legal drugs of caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol before trying their first illegal drug, which is usually marijuana. Marijuana is usually the first "illegal" drug because it is the most common and a very mild intoxicant.

However, being illegal it shares the same status in society as the other illegal drugs. Because most rapes are performed by non virgins, there is as much logic to say that sex leads to rape! Because rape is a crime that harms the victim, using the same logic as used for marijuana prohibition, the government should make sex illegal. It would be very annoying to most married couples, but to uphold the law, the police whould have the right to enter anyone's bedroom to make sure that no offense is committed!

If marijuana truly leads to harder drugs, then the country of Holland should have the highest heroin addiction rate in all of Europe instead of the lowest! The American government tries to suppress this information. However, Holland now has the oldest population of heroin addicts in the world because most of their addicts became addicted before Holland changed its policies for marijuana in the 1970s. Since separating "hard drugs" from "soft drugs", Holland hasn't had a population of younger addicts to keep the age of the addict population down. Holland has shown the world that policies based on truth work better than policies based only on lies. Therefore to follow the "Christian Way" is better! The Communist governments tried to suppress it, because it tends to cause people to think more "freely", and they wanted everyone to submit to government rule. However, seventy years of communism in Russia provided a foundation for the Mafia to become established as a most powerful force in Russia, creating problems under post communism, showing that to have policies based on un-Christian ways are bad.

Many of us know that to be addicted to a drug is a form of slavery to the drug.

It has been learned from talking to kids, who had been through the DARE program that if anything leads to harder drugs, it is programs such as those. One youngster told me that they had told them in DARE classes that if they smoked marijuana that they would "see bands of wild Indians riding out of the wall, attacking them," as a scare tactic! They told me that they had a friend that wanted to try marijuana, but when he got some, he learned that they had been told all lies! I failed to question these kids if seeing the Indians riding out of the wall was the attraction that made their friend want to try it, but I can see that the "scare stories" that they may be telling in DARE could create an attraction to try these things out, and that may be one reason that the DARE program has not shown any success! DARE also lies that marijuana is as bad as all the other drugs, but when the kids learn the truth about it, if they wanted to be more intoxicated, such as seeing the visions they had been told they would see, then they believe that the other drugs are "no worse" than marijuana or they know that they were lied to about marijuana, so they believe that they were lied to about all the others.

Many of us know that to be addicted to a drug is a form of slavery to the drug. Those of us fighting this persecution are fighting for our freedom, and we know to avoid taking anything that is known to make us slaves by being addicted to them. However the youth may only know that they were lied to about marijuana, and believe that they were lied to about all the other drugs, and such programs create a self-fulfilling prophesy when they say that marijuana leads to harder drugs!

Prohibition is also anti-Christian because it often separates families, by incarcerating loving members of many families.

It is also anti-Christian because of Genesis 1:11,12 and Matthew 23. Genesis 1:11,12 tells how God created every sort of seed bearing plant, and it was good! Marijuana is a seed bearing plant, but perhaps our government thinks that it knows better than our God!

    ... the "devil weed."

I have heard many prohibitionists refer to it as the "devil weed." I never saw anything in the Bible that implied that the devil had any power of creation. However, the major evidence that I have seen that perhaps Satin did have the power to create is that most of the politicians appear to be created in his own image!

The Lord created this plant for the benefit of those, whom he created in his own image! It is an excellent food source, hemp seed oil containing the proper combination of essential fatty acids for human health, and the seeds being most rich in usable vegetable proteins. Its fibers created the best natural fibers available to clothe people and provided a source of transportation for earlier man, by providing very important materials for sailing ships. Now, this plant is still capable of providing for man's transportation needs, because the diesel engine was designed to run on hemp seed oil and the remainder of the plant can be converted by pyrolysis into ethanol or methanol to provide energy for gasoline powered engines! This energy would be a non-polluting source because any exhaust emissions would be re-absorbed from the atmosphere by the following years' crops! It provides an aid to man's written communication with one another, by being the best source of pulp for paper making. It also can be used to create construction materials, that can be substituted for wood, and can produce plastic materials without the need for petrochemicals. If used for these things, we would not need to destroy the forests that our Lord created or have such a demand for the destructive use of petroleum products!

A logical reason for the Lord to have given it psychoactive qualities, is that it makes one feel closer to God. It is an aid to communication with the Lord. The reason that people like to be "high" because it feels good to be closer to God. Most are not be aware however, that God is trying to communicate with them however, and just enjoy the high. That is why it is a sacrament to the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church. Western churches are all an outgrowth of the Roman Empire however, and wine was the accepted intoxicant there, so they made wine a sacrament for communion. They considered uses of natural substances to be witchcraft, and public policy still suffers as a consequence.

... those who use God's plant to get closer to God ...

It is possible that the "dreams" or "visions", that angels appeared within, in some Biblical text were just states of intoxication. Who is to say that "dreams" or "visions" of ancient languages and cultures, are not the same as being "stoned" in the modern American language and culture!

Many members of established Christian churches consider those who use God's plant to get closer to God, in the same way as Christians were considered and persecuted in the first century by the established powers then, for believing that Christ would bring them to union with God. Are present day Christians going to follow in the footsteps of their persecutors?

It also makes it easier to hear and comprehend the individual words of different languages. There has been speculation that it was partially responsible for the early development of spoken language and this may be true, therefore it was an aid to spoken communication in addition to written communication.

Although it is an intoxicant, it should be quite clear that God created a plant with so many uses, that its intoxicating effects are quite trivial. He created this plant for the benefit of those, whom he created in his image.

Matthew 23 features Jesus speaking against the hypocrites. It is certainly hypocritical to have nicotine and alcohol legal, while marijuana is illegal. After all, they are responsible for about half a million deaths per year in America alone. Many politicians that support prohibition claim to have Christian values, but it is hypocritical to say that Gods' creation is good, and then prohibit one of his plants. Also, our President and House Speaker say that they smoked marijuana when they were young, but now that they are in power they are among the worst prohibitionists. Isn't it hypocritical to prohibit people from doing what they, themselves admit to having done in their youth?

Prohibition of one of God's plants is the same as suppression of God's word ...

Former President Bush is hypocritical for his opposition to the plant that was responsible for him being alive. His parachute harness that he had to jump out of his aircraft in W.W. II was made from hemp, so without hemp he would have died! And of course, there is caffeine, which doesn't have any intoxicating effect for regular users, but many people become so addicted to it, that they can't function without their morning cup of coffee. Some cultures in the past, tried to ban coffee, but it is an American staple.

Prohibition of one of God's plants is the same as suppression of God's word when the early clerics prohibited of the Bible from non-clerics! For those don't believe in continuing to prohibit the Bible, it is hypocritical to believe in drug prohibition.

After reading the story of Exodus and a book on fiber hemp, it can be seen that the "straw" that the Egyptians withheld from the Jews for making brick was probably actually hemp stalks. A book on fiber hemp said that the hemp stalks were called "straw" at one time. The "straw" of the Exodus story was used as a reinforcement for the bricks, much as steel reinforcing rods are used in reinforced concrete nowadays. Logically, the "straw" used for reinforcement, would have been hemp.

It is anti-Christian, whether or not you accept the reasons given, but believe that the primary goal of the church should be to minimize abuse. Logically, you would think that prohibiting a substance would be the way to minimize abuse, but many don't seem to realize that most abusers and youth are "rebellious", so prohibition increases abuse and youthful use because it creates drug abuse and use as a means of rebellion. It also does no good because the drugs are now available in most prisons, and an inmate would just have to contact his new source and he could continue using whatever drug he was incarcerated for. His new source of drugs may not be the kind of person that he should be dealing with, as was illustrated last summer when Charles Manson was found to be dealing drugs in a California penitentiary.

The prohibition causes most of the problems that the prohibitionists say that they want to eliminate.

A survey conducted by the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where marijuana has been legalized since 1976, found that there was no immediate increase in use after it was decriminalized. Although most people questioned in the survey had tried marijuana they did not continue to use it. The number of hard drug addicts in the Netherlands has not increased in a decade.

The prohibition causes most of the problems that the prohibitionists say that they want to eliminate. For example, crack cocaine never would have been invented if it were not for prohibition. Now, it is being replaced by methamphetamine that is often made in mobile homes or other disposable sites from ingredients that don't even come from God's plants. It would probably not even exist if it were not for prohibition!

The War on Drugs is failing, making problems worse and wasting time and effort. I know of no Biblical scripture that says to continue failing efforts that don't make any sense! It is not only against Christ, but the very principals that our country was founded upon. Abraham Lincoln is widely believed to have once said, "Prohibition goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."

However there is some historical dispute as to whether it was actually said by him or another wise American from his time. This valiant ideal has been compromised by the misguided notion that enforcing "morality" with criminal law is more beneficial than preserving the principles which formed our Constitutional Republic. Of course, if it is a proper interpretation that the Bible is for truth, the so-called morality that the prohibition laws try to enforce isn't "moral" at all! President Grant once said that the best way eliminate a "bad law" was to stringently enforce it. Therefore, the War on Drugs is doing much to eliminate these bad laws!

Drug prohibition is causing many problems in a similar way that alcohol prohibition caused problems.

One of the greatest thinkers from this century, Albert Einstein said the following about this country's attempt at alcohol prohibition in 1921: "The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase in crime in this country is closely connected with this."

The harm caused by bad laws may be clearly seen by examining policies in some other countries. In Holland, where they do not prosecute for marijuana, their rate of heroin addiction is the lowest of all of Europe and the rate of teen use of marijuana is significantly less than in America. It seems that they receive the "message" that it isn't "cool" anymore because who would object? In Switzerland, they tried an experimental program in which they made heroin available to hard core addicts and the results were so dramatic that they overwhelmingly approved of making the program nationwide. It dramatically improved the health and living conditions of addicts and significantly decreased crime.

In America now, prohibition causes poor health, eliminates employment for many, and gives enough "price support" that crime is often the only method of obtaining adequate funding. Drug prohibition is causing many problems in a similar way that alcohol prohibition caused problems. Drug prohibition is causing an increase in abuse of drugs, just as alcohol prohibition caused an increase in alcohol abuse and underage use. No ID was required for the "speakeasies" so youngsters could get alcohol, just as now marijuana is easier for them to get than alcohol because dealers never want to check ID.

America is also causing problems to surrounding countries.

There were also poisonings due to wood alcohol, because with no regulation, quality control wasn't necessary. With no quality control, drugs are often adulterated.

America is also causing problems to surrounding countries. In Mexico there have been a few drug gangs formed because America provides a lucrative market for price supported substances. The War on Drugs has closed other routes of transport, so some Mexicans have stepped in. They are also causing corruption in the Mexican government. This is all because of America's War on Drugs.

We can't deny that some people have problems with marijuana, but if people would seek information and think through the situation, they would come to realize that most of the problems preexist or are caused by prohibition and not the marijuana! Even though it isn't addicting, some people become habitual users and prefer to sit around stoned, rather than seeking and finding better things to do. This behavior contributes to an unfavorable stigma for all those that use marijuana. Often marijuana abuse is a symptom of other problems and these problems need to be addressed, but society now blames most problems on marijuana.

Another reason that prohibition is un-Christian is that it is not Christian to force things upon other people. Jesus would not use the rule of law to force certain behavior even if he disagreed with the behavior being practiced. After all, an act has no meaning if the motivation to do it doesn't come from the heart.

... all the sailing ships in our past had hemp rigging.

The prohibition should be ended, because the plant offers far more industrial and medicinal value, than it does recreational value. However, many people don't accept that, because they see it as all "marijuana", therefore bad!

It was well known for centuries that it produced the best fibers of any plant, and all the sailing ships in our past had hemp rigging. The word "canvas" is derived from the word "cannabis". The first law regarding this plant in America was that farmers were required to grow hemp in the colonies. It doesn't require nearly as much water to cultivate, nor any chemical pesticides or herbicides as cotton does. Cotton requires the most pesticide application of any crop in the agricultural industry. It is also about twice as productive per acre to produce fiber as cotton.

The first paper was produced from hemp and it is far superior to using wood pulp. It is 4 times as productive per acre than trees to produce pulp for paper and it doesn't require the environmentally harmful chemical processing that wood pulp does. A paper mill that makes paper from hemp would not have that awful smell that we have become familiar with, because the paper wouldn't require the chemical processing that wood paper does. Of course, the paper industry is driven by greed and there is much profit to be made by cutting God's creation to provide raw materials for paper, but God has created a better plant that could help farmers as well.

The plant can produce virtually anything that comes from petrochemicals now.

In the 1930s DuPont had developed synthetic fibers from petrochemicals and Hearst had some timber holdings that he wanted to make into paper. They wanted to eliminate the competition. Hearst controlled many newspapers throughout the country, and they figured that the best way to eliminate the competition was to get it outlawed. Hemp was used as an intoxicant by Mexicans and Black jazz musicians then, while most white people didn't use it, so the newspapers started printing stories of how Mexicans or Niggers rape and kill while on the "new" drug marihuana.

Marijuana was just a Mexican slang term for intoxicating hemp then. Nobody cared about Mexicans or Niggers then, and no one investigated the stories to find out if there was any truth to them. The pharmaceutical industry was also behind them, because drug companies couldn't patent a plant that most people can grow themselves, and therefore they couldn't make money from it. Because they used the Mexican slang term, many legislators never knew that they were outlawing a plant that had been a staple crop in America since the beginning of the country.

The plant can produce virtually anything that comes from petrochemicals now. When Rudolph Diesel designed the diesel engine he intended that it run on vegetable oil. Petroleum was just something that came out of the ground then and made a mess. The primary vegetable oil, that he expected to be used for his engine was hemp seed oil, as it was the best oil for the oil lamps in wide use then. The remainder of the plant produces an excellent source of biomass that can be converted by pyrolysis into methanol. If legal, we would not have to import Arab oil, because we could grow enough to meet our fuel needs and end our dependence on fossil fuels. By using biofuels rather than fossil fuels, we would end the "greenhouse effect" because the plants would absorb all the carbon dioxide put into the atmosphere by their combustion.

The drug war is un-Christian because it is driven by greed and desire for dollars.

Hemp seeds are also an excellent source of food. They are richer in usable protein than even soybeans, and hemp seed oil contains all the essential fatty acids for good health.

The drug war is un-Christian because it is driven by greed and desire for dollars.

Government has prohibited it, even though every government commission formed to do a comprehensive study of marijuana use for the past 100 years has specifically recommended against prohibition. They have also never learned the lessons of the country's attempt at alcohol prohibition, which gave the Mafia a foothold to become established in this country. One can only imagine what chaos would come if the government tried to become less hypocritical, and prohibit cigarettes because many people would kill for a cigarette if they had to!

The Indian Hemp Commission report of 1894 found that use of cannabis in India caused no problem for the British. Since 1933 the Siler Commission (1933), the LaGuardia Report (1944), the Shafer Commission (1972), the Canadian Government Study (1972), the Alaska State Commission (1989), the California Research Advisory Panel (1989) have all disagreed with Harry Anslinger's Reefer Madness fictions. Most of them recommended decriminalization. These studies were done by the nation's best scholars, medical authorities and scientists.

World Health Organization study suppressed when it said cannabis is safer than alcohol/tobacco ...

In addition, much of a recent study by the World Health Organization for the UN has been suppressed because it found that cannabis is safer than alcohol or tobacco. Evidence that cannabis could harm the development of babies in the womb was considered "far from conclusive", while the grounds for alcohol doing so were "good". Researchers had found that marijuana smoke did not lead to blocked airways or emphysema or impact on lung function, and it was less addictive than alcohol or cigarettes. More than one hundred years of study has always recommended against the politicians, but they always refuse to listen to the truth!

Other Anslinger lies about marijuana: "If the hideous monster Frankenstein came face to face with the monster marijuana he would drop dead of fright." "But here we have drug that is not like opium. Opium has all of the good of Dr. Jekyll and all the evil of Mr. Hyde. This drug is entirely the monster Hyde, the harmful effect of which cannot be measured." "Some people will fly into a delirious rage, and they are temporarily irresponsible and may commit violent crimes. Other people will laugh uncontrollably. It is impossible to say what the effect will be on any individual." "I believe in some cases one cigarette might develop a homicidal mania, probably to kill his brother. It depends on the physical characteristics of the individual. Every individual reacts differently to the drug. It stimulates some and others it depresses. It is impossible to say just what the action of the drug will be on a given individual, of the amount. Probably some people could smoke five before it would take that effect, but all the experts agree that the continued use leads to insanity. There are many cases of insanity."

The message of the Bible is love, hope and redemption.

The message of the Bible is love, hope and redemption. Nowhere does God's word suggest that drug addicts should be subject to death and criminal penalties unless they commit a crime against another person. Nowhere does the Bible suggest denying sick and dying people relief from their pain to "save the children." Many times Jesus showed mercy by healing the sick and relieving their pains.

Drug prohibition is based on sadistic lies, and the Bible condemns lies and liars. Therefore, the Bible also condemns drug prohibition since it is based on lies.

The prohibitionists always say that any legalization, even for only medical use, would send the "wrong message" to the children, but what kind of message do the children get when this country spends far more on prisons than on schools to educate the children, and prison guards make a better salary than teachers? It seems to me, that it sends a message that the children aren't very important! The government also prohibits any medical research of this plant because they say that they don't want to send the "wrong message". This keeps many people from relief of suffering, and it helps to provide profits for pharmaceutical companies, that synthesize drugs that often don't relieve suffering.

The mistaken assumption of prohibition is that mere possession, cultivation, or use guarantees inevitable harm which justifies the incarceration of non-violent adults BEFORE the specific harm is actually committed. Persecuting millions of adults because of what they MIGHT do was the goal of Nazi laws against Jews as well as American laws against drug users. This contradicts the presumption of innocence which is the basis of any free society.

Weed from Hell? ... nothing in the Bible indicates the Devil had the power to create anything ...

In Nazi Germany, anti-Jew enforcers urged faithful citizens to turn in Jews who were deemed falsely to be destroying society. In Drug War America, drug abstinence enforcers urge faithful citizens to turn in abstinence violators who are deemed falsely to be destroying society. In both cases, the enforcers of bigoted intolerance laws use deceptive and frightening rhetoric. Whenever bigotry is enshrined in public policy, rationalizations abound. Though the degree of its social harm is much less, the tactics of the Drug War closely resemble those of the Nazis. When young, we were taught that one of the "bad" things that the Nazis tried to teach the children was to turn in family for having pro-Jewish sentiments or saying anything bad about the Furher. However, recently an 11 year old DARE graduate turned in her parents for growing this plant and there have been numerous other similar cases in the past.

Presently, drugs are scheduled by a law enforcement agency (DEA), and they don't want to recognize any medical value to marijuana, even though the primary intoxicant has been synthesized and it is legal. They want to maintain the public image that it is only the "Weed from Hell". Reading the Bible, nothing can be found that indicates that the Devil had the power to create things, but if he did, then clearly he created many of the politicians in his own image!

For cancer patients undergoing chemo-therapy, the treatment causes severe, uncontrollable nausea, and they are often prescribed the active ingredient in synthetic pill form. Since they have to take it in a pill, it is often vomited up undissolved. When it is not vomited out and it dissolves, the dosage is such that they are totally "wasted" for about 12 hours, because they can't simply smoke enough to have the desired effect.

The pills are also expensive, so the pharmaceutical industry is making money. However, greed and money are the primary reasons that we are subject to such oppressive laws. The knowledge of the fact that marijuana is beneficial to glaucoma patients came about as a result of tests by law enforcement to try to find a method to detect intoxication. During their tests, they noticed that it lowers the inter-ocular eye pressure, which is the cause of blindness from glaucoma.

DEA's own judge said "Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances ...

The DEA's own administrative law judge performed an extensive study of marijuana for rescheduling it in the 1980s. After 3 years (I think) of study, he found that "Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known. The provisions of the Controlled Substances Act permit and require the transfer of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule II. It would be unreasonable, arbitrary, and capricious for the DEA to continue to stand between those sufferers and the benefits of this substance." However, he was overruled by the DEA administrator, who never even examined any of the evidence! If he had not been overruled for political reasons, then California's initiative would not have been necessary.

A recent Gold Medal winner in the Winter Olympics showed that his marijuana use in no way led to amotivational syndrome or any of the other harms that prohibitionists claim that marijuana causes.

Recent surveys of college student attitudes show a little hope. Even though college students are now a generation that was brought up with the DARE program, they realise that marijuana is certainly not as bad as cigarettes and that the government lies! We can only pray that Christians will also learn how much against Christ the prohibition is!

The recent suppression of elements of a report by the World Health Organization shows that anti-Christian forces are still at work suppressing truth. Christian people still have much work to do, to reveal the truth!

An even more recent resolution in the House of Representatives shows that the majority of American politicians will not escape the judgment of hell, as Jesus said the Pharisees wouldn't in his day. They want to assure that God's plant is not available to the sick people, who could benefit greatly from it. The "War on Drugs" is becoming a War on the Sick!
