Karkaren Kurdistan (PKK) is a hammer & sickle Maoist organization being
run in Stalinist style -- complete with executions and purge trials --
by one Abdullah Ocalan (Apo). With
permanent bases in Syria, and semi-permanent ones in Iraq, PKK's primary
target of terror is Turkiye, but its stated aim is the creation of
a Maoist state in areas of Turkey, Iran, and Iraq.The
primary targets of PKK's terrorist activities have been civilians, including
women, babies, children, the elderly, civil servants, and school teachers.
PKK has targeted entire families --along with
relatives-- and entire villages in southeast Turkey for refusing to support
it. PKK has formal declarations of cooperation with numerous Turkish and
international terrorist organizations..
| After the assault
against the hamlet of Bahcebasi, Midyat on 20.08.1987 where five people
(3 children, 1 woman and 1 man) had lost their lives, a
PKK member said, "... The people in that village didn't want to recognize
our authority, there was only thing to do. We attacked the village,
later we learnt that" five people had been killed in the attack."
