Wiksten who nobody seems to know does well deserve to be known. She's amongst the best ladies in practise in here. Landed lots of good triple lutz-double toe combos, all the triples generally (even the flip which she doesn't quite control yet but still manages to land a couple in every practise). She' s a very good skater and I hope she does as well as in Oberstdorf. Blues around the clock for SP and Basic Instict for the FP, as last year (both).
Hughes, big disappointment for me ! She hasn't improved her jumping at all. She still barely gets off the ground (it looks like she's going for a double but always does triple), the jumps are underrotated, so weak and low (really, comparing to her, Lipinski was Ito), they all look very ugly to me, and her triple loop-triple loop combo is terrible, the second jump is so underrotated, so just. She has a nice layback spin, she's very flexible and performs wonderful spirals and nice variations on the spin, but no, really, this won't do to me. She's slow, has no power at all, jumping is horrifying and she flutzes so much.
Volchkova still jumps so high, it's amazing the height she can get on the jumps. Her combo for the SP is triple lutz-triple toe ! ! ! I'm so happy as it's been ages I've been waiting for someone to perform it in a SP. Let's hope she lands it. It wasn't quite there in practise today, but I'm sure she has it generally. All the jumps went ok, even the salchow and the double axel she hates, she missed nothing. So, she's still a big threat to the veteran Russian ladies.
Fumie Suguri didn't seem very consistent, esp. on the toe and sal.
Von der Thusen should be last, she only has the toe and sal (and not always). She's working on the lutz but it's not there, she always lands on the left foot at 2 and a half rotations.
Poth is still training in swimming suit, of course, but this year, it's bright pink, she thinks perhaps she's not getting enough attention. Landed all the jumps but triple toe-triple toe is very just and short, she pulls up in the air and then waits for the jump to be finished. She fell sometimes on the second. Struggled on the loop, and her flutz is not consistent. Flip and sal ok, but she has no flow out of her jumps. Her new FP on latino musics is ok but her moves generally have nothing to do with it, don't all go along with the music.
Lautowa struggles with her jumps. Landed all the triples, but she's not consistent on them. Same FP as last year. Hair still short but lighter.
Brittney as usual fought on her flutzes a lot. She landed some triple flips, so she was happy. Other triples are ok.
Vorobieva has lost a lot of weight (and she needed it) but, unfortunately, jumps didn't come back. She landed nothing today, just one triple loop, and an underrotated and saved toe. Same FP as last year (Jewish).
Butyrskaya couldn't land her flip, as usual, it was either two footed, stepped out, or a fall. Lutz was good. Her new combo triple toe-half loop-triple salchow as always has a big step out of the salchow. Loop perfect, of course !
Robinson landed a clean triple lutz, a clean toe, clean salchows, and a triple loop with no speed (as usual). I didn't watch her much, sorry for her fans. Her new music is so much into her style, very pretentious and " I'm trying to be too elegant ". It's getting on my nerves, it's too slow !
MEN
Denomee looked very fit, more confident after his bronze in
Oberstdorf. Jumps are very powerfull and high.
All the jumps were good, except that he struggled a lot to add
a triple toe after his triple flip. He would always stop after
the flip, unable to go for the triple toe, although placement
and speed were good on the landing.
Dambier landed three quad salchows but it's not a surprise, two
years ago, I saw him land so easily quad sal-triple toe
(Goebel's combo). It's amazing he finished last at every
competition, in front of the judges nothing works. The triple
axel wasn't quite there. I think he also landed a quad toe.
Restencourt is still a strong jumper, but he hasn't improved
his artistry at all. The FP (Mask of Zorro, help !) is ok but
you can really fell on every move he'll never have the artistic
temperment. It's sad cos his jumps are marvellous. Lots of
3axel-3toe, 4 toes (went for the 4 sal but it never worked),
all the triples, no problem.
Tobel, well I didn't look at him much (why ? I like him). I
saw some triple axels. And on the other jumps he's good.
Kaden landed some good lutzes with triple toes, but fell on the
3axel.
Shigematsu, I saw some triple jumps incl. the axel but not a
lot of combos.
Yagudin was doing ok, as usual lots of 3axel-3toe, all the
triples with triple toe, but he couldn't land one clean 3 lutz.
His 4 toe still looks just to me.
Cejvan, sorry I didn't watch him.
Meier kept his FP for the third season in a row ! ! ! Well, I
don't mind, this program is great but for him, it must be so
boring ! Struggled on the 3 axel, landed some but fell many
times also.
Weiss hasn't improved his 3 axel's entrance at all. Actually,
I think he never will, it's too late. Landed some with triple
toe combo. Good practise as usual.
Dinev was struggling on his 4 toe. Landed one on two feet.
Other jumps ok (3axel-3toe, no problem, as usual) except for
the lutz, of course !

PAIRS
Rybowsky often lands her throwns on two feet and they are not
powerfull nor long.
Abitbol/B landed thrown triple loop and double axel, I wonder
why they ever made such a big fuss about the triple axel if
they don't even try it in practise (and they haven't for ages
cos I saw them at many many practises). Their new FP music
sounds like Dracula's soundtrack.
Saurette/Fecteau were ok yesterday and today. Throws were
succesfull but I didn't pay attention to their side by side
triple toe.
Zagorska/S only practised today (as many pairs actually).
Everything is fine (except Mariusz's sit spin, of course!).
Totmianina/M were good as usual but she didn't land her triple
lutz SBS, he landed his. FP music is Rachmaninov's variations.
Their throwns are consistent as always.
Obertas/P. She missed one or two thrown triple sal which is
very low but landed the other ones. They should get more
height on it. He often missed the SBS triple toe.
Ina/Z had good throwns. Her triple toe was fine, but I didn't
see his.
Scott/Dulebohn were there yesterday (alone in their group).
It's funny to see a left handed pair, esp. in the lifts. They
can land SBS triple toe, but she often misses it. Their triple
twist is not good, throwns are ok but tiny and not long enough.
They need more time to get speed and power. But they are fair
and working hard (they always skate their whole program in
their RT).
Khalturina is good with her new partner (but to me it worked
very well with the former one, too). They do triple sal. side
by side, as she did before with Krukov. All jumps are
consitent. They have a nice lift with her head down and her
body stretched and perpendicular to the ice (but not the same
one as with Krukov). It looks very difficult and the way out
is too.

DANCE
You guys know I'm not a dance addict at all. Just some
thoughts.
D/V's new FP looks great to me, it's full of difficult and
original lifts and spins, for some people, it lacks a little
SBS skating.
Chait/S's FP is much different from last year, faster and with
more flow.
Delobel/S's is very nice.
And I like Lang/T's new FP, full of nice attitudes.
Sorry I give no details and good infos, I just don't know
dance.
I didn't see Marina and Gwendal's new FP (they didn't come) nor
the Italians's one (same reason).
Compulsories are on tonight. I'm not going. I have to type my
Gelsenkirchen review.
