Border Morris

Shinfield Shambles is a Ladies Morris side which dances in the Welsh Border style. We come from the village of Shinfield, which is just outside Reading, in the Royal County of Berkshire, England.

We dance at pubs, fetes, pubs, carnivals, pubs, festivals of all descriptions, pubs, schools, pubs, hospitals, pubs, old folks' homes, pubs, private functions, pubs and breweries, and will travel all over the country (and the world) to dance at any of the above but especially pubs (and breweries).

Morris dancing is a great way to stay fit (unless you are a musician, in which case it's a great way to stay unfit). It's also enormous fun. We practise every Monday evening at Shinfield Parish Hall from 8 till 10, from September to July. So if you are interested in joining us, or booking us for any event, give Hilary a ring on 0118 969 6926 or e-mail Hilary@tindall5290.freeserve.co.uk

2004 was the side's 10th anniversary and we marked the momentous occasion with a special Day of Dance in June, and an anniversary dinner in February for all members past and present. The 10th Anniversary Page has details of these events and a much needed nostalgic tour through 10 years of shambolic activity.
