All right, if you're here I'll just assume you're a Harry Potter fan so you should know which characters are legally J. K. Bowling and which are my creations. If you're not a Harry Potter fan then why are you here? If you're a televangelist looking for "proof" Harry Potter's "Satanic" just forget it. Considering that anyone who visits Snopes knows the whole Satanic thing was a HOAX.... And anyway I was raised Christian and consider myself one and I've found nothing Satanic about Harry Potter. If Harry Potter's Satanic then so are C. S. Lewis' Chronicles Of Narnia - even though old C. S. was a major Christian himself. Now, for you fans who'll read this and think "That's not how J. K. Rowling writes!" well, you're right. This is how Jami JoAnne Russell writes. I don't copy other writers' styles. Yes, this might not be seen as "true" to Rowling's works but like I said, I'm not Rowling. This isn't meant to be a copy of her work but rather a tribute to her. To show her how much I enjoy her works by writing a story with my writing style. (Anyway, I never said I was a good writer. Otherwise I wouldn't call my main site Jami's (BAD) Writing! Not to mention I'm an American and we write different from people in other countries.) Oh, and for those that might've read this before, I rewrote pretty much the entire thing for the 3rd and last time, only keeping a couple of scenes involving Ashley and flying and her time in the Forbidden Forest while the rest was completely revamped. I like this version a lot better. I'm more comfortable with it. Hopefully others will enjoy it too. I'm still waiting for suggestions for a title as I've never gotten any. As for why I wrote this. Well, yes, it's mainly a tribute to J. K. Rowling. However there's another reason. I'm a avid role player and want very much to play the character I created in this story, Ashley Katrina Hood, but no structured game will take me because I wish to play an adult, not a child. (I think that's unfair since Ashley is still a first year. Adult or not. While I play her in a non-structured RPG I'd like to play her in a structured PBEM. One where the GM makes stats and dice rolls and comes up with plots.) So I wrote this also due to frustration at not being able to play my character. Maybe someday, hopefully soon, someone will read this and realize this could work and let me play in their Harry Potter game.... I hope! Oh, and yes, I AM taking suggestions for a real title. Please put "Fan-Fic Title" in the subject line of the e-mail. I get LOTS of spam so if you don't I'll most likely delete it. Now that's all out of the way - Onto the story!
